Green Motion, the environmentally friendly vehicle rental business, have been getting people to drive their Bluemotion VW Golf, which has been fitted with the latest technology to track how much CO2 you emit and how much fuel you use. The winner will be crowned as the most environmentally friendly driver in Milton Keynes. The Stacey Bushes based business want to raise awareness that by making slight changes to the way you drive you can reduce your carbon emissions and increase fuel economy. Green Motion managing director Richard Lowden told the Citizen: “You can put everybody in green cars but if they drive like lunatics, don’t change gears properly, over-rev their engine and brake too sharply then it doesn’t make much difference. “But by making slight changes to the way you drive you can make a real difference to the environment.” The challenge involves driving to three points in the city to pick up check-point cards.
