oh. lord, these starter motors are built for the start/stopp system.

@gorobin yeah and when adding “technological” stuff like that, they improve the chances to get something wrong in the car, can you imagine at a busy light in times square in new york what that can cause if the car refuse to start… Yeah great it save fuel and the environment! But… that about the only thing that it’s saving… but the money that you will save whit will not pay for the battery, the starter and other wtuff that i dont know that’s going to be ruin by this start stop thing!

i imagine they’ve sorted that out, their warranty costs would be huge if it was a problem or needed a recall.

Better buy some shares in companies that make starter motors … I dread to think how often you will need to replace one.
